"First Day of Blogging, Second Day of Commuting"
Originally created on: Tue, 3/28/06
What a hectic day, second day of commuting from San Jose to my office in Mountain View. Not that I mind the commuting, it's not that bad, it's just that I really am not used to be leaving for work this late, 10 am. It's like I don't know what I should do before going to work, there's too much time. Breakfast? Finishing some work? Doing some house chores? Cleaning up? (That I never really did in the past at my old place). I used to just wake up, doing some morning rituals (bathroom businesses), checking some emails and messages online, preparing my breakfast and lunch, and then showering and leaving for work. That would get me to work by 8.30.
But the good thing is, the train station is only 5 minutes away from my home now. It's quite convenient, especially when I take the train on my way home and I don't have to wait another half an hour for the bus.
By the way, yeah, since this is my first posting, supposedly, I bet you have no idea what I'm talking about. Well, if you haven’t figured it out, I used to live somewhere else, Mountain View to be specific. I just moved here to San Jose two days ago. I work in Mountain View, 20 minutes bus trip from my old apartment. Now I have to take the train, Caltrain, to go to work. It takes an hour total, I guess. Not bad, especially since I’d be able to do my stuff on the train (i.e. sleeping, reading, working on my computer, watching some DVDs, etc.).
Hoahem... *yawn* now I’m sleepy, and it's only Lawrence station, there's still gonna be Sunnyvale, and then Mountain View station.
Oh, by the way, this computer that I’m typing on right now, the brand new Apple MacBook Pro, is a real pain the a**. This is my second one after the first one failed and had been replaced with this one. But this one is not perfect either. It failed also, and I just reinstalled everything this morning. So we'll see how it goes. Oh well.. Maybe I’ll write the whole story about this. In the meantime, let's pray this one doesn't misbehave.
"Sunnyvale station is next," that's the conductor announced from the speaker. Mountain View is only 3 minutes away! Fun! Yay!
Nice day today, not too windy, but shiny. And warm enough, though I still need my jacket. Hopefully it will be like this the whole day. Oh by the way, yesterday was total disaster. We had the power outage at my office, the whole building, wait, no, the whole complex! I wonder what was going on. The good thing is, I got to go home earlier yesterday, since nothing I could do at work... but again, this is the whole another story. I’ll try to post it later.
Alright then. I think it’s enough for now. My station is coming. Thanks for reading and have a nice day!
