Jason Castro: That Cool Guy on Idol with Dreadlocks

Alright, my 3rd post tonight. Still Idol related. This guy, Jason Castro. I kinda like him. He's cool, natural, he doesn't sing like Clay Aiken (or any other Idol contestants in the past). He plays instruments. And yes, it doesn't hurt that he's also rather easy on the eyes..

I just found his AWESOME rendition of Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" on YouTube. And it's totally AWESOME with capital A W E S O M and E! I hope he gets the chance to show this off on Idol:

And while reading the comments on this video, I found yet another awesome cover on this song, by this guy called Ray Lamontagne. He actually did quite a lot of cover of other songs. Check this out:

So I guess it's true. A good song is really what makes it or breaks it for any artist who wants to make it through the fame bar. It doesn't matter who sings it, it would still be a great song.

Brooke White: That Idol Contestant Who's So "OMG.. I Love Her!"

She's so the kind of singer and/or musician that I won't feel ashamed of watching on American Idol.

Love her "Beatiful":

And of course, her latest "You're So Vain":

Love her!

Josiah Leming: The Guy Who Didn't Make It

Alright. I can't help but have to, must, ought to, definitely can't not to, post this thing. One of the most heart-breaking and upsetting cut on American Idol (well at least of all that I've witnessed).

This guy, Josiah Leming, he sang (or rather, performed) probably one of my favorite songs of all time, Mika's "Grace Kelly" at the Hollywood audition. And you know what? I effing burst in tears! I mean, really. I approve his interpreting this song and make it as interesting as the original.

Check the video here:

In a way, it was a good thing that he didn't make it on American Idol. Because, honestly, I couldn't see him as an Idol graduate. He's better off being himself with some Indie record label or whatever. In fact, last time I checked his Myspace, he was having some negotiations with some label execs about producing his album. You can however buy his songs directly on his Myspace page though.

I'm just glad that America gets to see him on TV. On American idol, on Ellen, and on MTV. And here's one of my other favorite performance from him:
