"Elliott Yamin for American Idol!"

My face is a little oily this morning (or has it always been this way all the time? Hmm…). It’s just that when it gets too oily, the oil will somehow get clogged in the pores and it could grow into a pimple. And yes, I did have one today, a small one, but it was ripe enough so I could squeeze it this morning in the shower. Now, I’m basically pimple-free, but still a little oily. Oh well, maybe because it’s getting a little warmer, I get sweaty and.. oily. Who knows? I’m an oily man.

Anyway, today is Wednesday. Again, one of the most boring days of the week. Last night, when I checked my email, I got this email from my boss asking about some “mistake” on the database. I checked the database and well, it could be a mistake, but I simply didn’t touch it because the data was already there, and someone has marked it as ‘complete” somehow, so I thought it was really complete and correct.

I replied the email right away, and told my boss that I can make the appropriate change(s) as long as the previous mistake (made by Alex, actually) could be corrected first. I CC-ed that email to Alex as well. And guess what? I got a reply from Alex, confirming my research and.. another email from my boss about another mistake! And it was 10 o’clock already. I was just like, “OK, dude. Whatever. There’s still tomorrow.” And so, that’s what I’m gonna look at first thing I get to work. Fun, huh?

I also got a chance to talk with one of my girlfriends from Indonesia. Her name is Fanny. Apparently she was at work, and she had nothing to do but.. well.. talking to me.. hehe. I told her that I just got this Mac computer and surprisingly, she was so excited. She told me that his boss also has one of those. And since, I believe, that boss of hers is about the only person in Jakarta who’s using Mac (hyperbolic, buddies), he finds it a little difficult when dealing with file compatibility. Fanny told me, for example, a Visio drawing from Microsoft. She has to convert it to Power Point so her boss can view it on his Mac. Not very convenient but well, still bearable I guess.

And oh, it was American idol last night. The theme was “Love Songs.” And guess who was (or rather, were) the vocal coach for last night’s performance? It was Andrea Bocelli and David Foster! That was fantastic. I mean, I love Andrea Bocelli. And David Foster? He probably is one of the best producers in the entire music industry.

The show started with Katharine McPhee singing “I Have Nothing” of Whitney Houston. A little pitchy, and well.. I gotta admit that even though it was quite stunning performance, Kat doesn’t really get what it takes to be the next American Diva. I mean, she’s just not there yet. She’s still a little in the middle. It really depends on what kind of song that she chose to sing. And it makes her not a versatile singer.

The next performance, the one and only Mr. Elliott Yamin. And I was totally blown away by his performance. It was literally tear-jerker. I mean, come on.. Paul Abdul wept in tears, and Simon Cowell called it “.. like a master singer class, it was superb.” And boy, let me tell you, not only Elliott’s mom burst in tears, but Kat’s dad was also burst in tears. Paul Abdul was like “Elliott, you are the true American Idol!” Phew! I love Elliott, I really hope he will be the next American Idol.

Anyway, another performances were just so so. Miss Pickler with her boring “Unchained Melody’ (with LeAnn Rimes touch, as she said. LeAnn Rimes you’re a*s), Paris with her rendition of one of Barbra Streissand’s songs (which I have no idea what it’s called), Taylor Hicks with one of James Ingram’s love ballads, and finally, Chris Daughtry with Bryan Adam’s “Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman” (which I think is quite mediocre but surprisingly, the judges like it). The result show is tonight where Andrea Bocelli will perform live. And I think, it’s gonna be either Kelly Pickler or Paris Bennet who’s going to go home tonight..

Oh, by the way, I did catch my bus this time. Different driver I see. Right now I’m typing on the bus. It makes me a little queasy since the bus is moving left and right too much. SO I guess, I’ll just end it here for now. I’ll post this right when I get to the office. So, I’ll see ya in a bit?

--Afternoon Journal--

All right, another day has just finished. Super boring, no thrill at all (even Anthony couldn’t annoy me any less today). The strange thing is that everything is on time now, the bus, the train. It’s a good kind of strange I guess.. ☺

By the way, I forgot to mention earlier that our houseguest, Craig, didn’t feel really good. He’s got a little cold and over-tired I guess. I haven’t seen him again since he got here 2 days ago. He’s been staying in this room all the time. I’m just a little concerned if that is more than a cold or flu. But the last time I checked with Paul, he told me that Craig has been out of his room and seems like feeling a little better. So, we might go out for dinner somewhere right when I get home, with Craig.

Tonight is the result show for American Idol. A must see TV since it will have Andrea Bocelli singing live (probably with David Foster on the piano). What else? Hmm.. ah.. tomorrow is a meeting day, which means I need to start doing my report tonight. And hey, the database clean up is almost finished! I think that’s something to look forward to by the end of this week.

That’s all. Nothing else. Santa Clara station is coming, and oh.. by the way, the train is a little crowded today. Probably since I am sitting on the lower level. Anyway, I’ll see ya tomorrow then!
